Decipher the Secrets of the Pharaohs with Egypt’s Leading Historians
Egypt’s culture is not one period but five thousand years stacked on top of each other: the pyramids of the Old Kingdom, the temples of Luxor and Aswan, Greek and Roman Alexandria, Coptic churches and the mosques and markets of Islamic Cairo. Our Egypt cultural tours are private trips built around those layers, each with a licensed Egyptologist guide, hand-picked hotels and the time to understand what you are looking at, not just photograph it.

A first visit of a week works best as Cairo plus Luxor, or Cairo plus a four-night Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, which visits Edfu and Kom Ombo on the way. Ten to twelve days adds Alexandria and Abu Simbel and leaves time to slow down; our 12-day Egypt Round Tour covers Cairo, Alexandria and a full Nile cruise. Short on time? Four days covers Cairo, Giza and Abu Simbel.
A little background makes every site richer. Start with our guides to the Egyptian pharaohs, Ramesses II, how the pyramids were built and the gods you will meet in the temples. For timing, see the best time to visit Egypt.
Seven to ten days covers Cairo, Luxor and Aswan at a comfortable pace. With twelve days you can add Alexandria and Abu Simbel.
Yes. Every tour is guided by a licensed Egyptologist, who explains the history and handles tickets and timings at each site.
They are private: your own guide, driver and vehicle, with dates and pace set around you.
Yes. Any of these trips can end with a few days in Hurghada or El Gouna; tell us when you enquire and we will add it.
October to April, when it is cool enough for long days at the temples. In summer, sightseeing starts early and the afternoons are kept for museums and rest.
