Island Hopping, Coral Reef Exploration, and High-Adrenaline Safaris
Hurghada is the Red Sea resort that gives you both sides of Egypt: coral reefs and islands off the coast, desert and mountains behind it, and the pyramids and Luxor within a day’s reach. Our Hurghada excursions are private, with hotel pick-up in Hurghada, El Gouna, Makadi Bay and Sahl Hasheesh.
The reefs off Hurghada are some of the most accessible in the Red Sea. Our private snorkeling trip takes you to the reefs by boat, with stops chosen for the day’s conditions, often around Giftun Island and its national park. Never dived? Our Discover Scuba Diving trip starts with a briefing and a first dive with an instructor; no certificate is needed. On land, the Hurghada Grand Aquarium is a good half day with children.
The Eastern Desert begins just behind the town. Our Desert Safari & Bedouin Experience combines the drive into the desert with a Bedouin camp, tea and dinner, and the Wadi Belli sunset safari heads into the mountain valleys from El Gouna or Hurghada for sunset and dinner under the stars.
The fastest way to the pyramids is by air: the flight to Cairo takes about an hour, so you have a full day at Giza. See our Pyramids Day Trip by Air or the wider Cairo Day Trip by Air. By road the drive is about five to six hours each way; see our Cairo Day Trip by Road.
Luxor is about four hours from Hurghada by road. A long day covers Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut’s temple; see our Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada. With more time, our three-day trip to Cairo, Abu Simbel and Luxor brings the main sites together without the rush.
Hurghada is sunny all year. The sea is warmest from June to October; in winter the water is cooler but the days are mild and ideal for desert trips. Summer afternoons in the desert are very hot, so safaris run in the late afternoon and evening.
Yes. By air it is about an hour each way, which leaves a full day in Cairo; by road it is a long day, with five to six hours’ driving each way.
No. It is designed for beginners: an instructor gives a briefing and stays with you on the dive.
Hurghada, El Gouna, Makadi Bay and Sahl Hasheesh. Tell us your hotel when you book.
It is a long day, but it is the easiest way to see Karnak and the Valley of the Kings during a beach holiday. For a slower visit, choose our three-day trip.
