How to Spend 7 or 8 Days in Egypt
A week in Egypt usually means Cairo first, then the south by Nile cruise or flight. Here is how our 7 and 8 day trips are built. For a day-by-day plan, read our 7-day Egypt itinerary.
Days 1–3: Cairo and Giza
The Pyramids and the Sphinx, Saqqara, the Grand Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo. We meet you at the airport and stay with you all the way.
Days 4–7: Luxor, Aswan and the Nile
Sail between Luxor and Aswan on a Nile cruise, with stops at Edfu and Kom Ombo, or stay in Luxor for Karnak, Luxor Temple and the Valley of the Kings. Abu Simbel can be added as a day trip from Aswan.
Or add the Red Sea
Some trips swap a few days of sightseeing for the beach in Hurghada, a good choice for families and couples.
Season
October to April is the main season. Christmas, New Year and Easter fill first, so book early.

Questions About 7 & 8 Day Egypt Tours
Everything you need to know before you travel
Is 7 days enough for Egypt?
Yes, for the highlights: Cairo and the Pyramids, then Luxor and Aswan by Nile cruise or flight. With 8 days you can add Abu Simbel or a day of rest.
Should I choose a Nile cruise or stay in Luxor?
A cruise shows you Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan without packing and unpacking. Staying in Luxor gives more time in its temples and tombs. Both work in a week.
How do I get from Cairo to Luxor?
By domestic flight, about an hour. We book it as part of your trip.
Do I need a visa for Egypt?
Most travellers need one. Many nationalities can buy an e-Visa online or get a visa on arrival; check the official Egypt e-Visa portal for your passport. We are happy to help.
Are your prices per person?
Yes. Prices are in US dollars per person, sharing a double room, and include what each trip lists. International flights are not included.
Can I change a trip?
Yes. Every trip is private, so we can add or remove days, change hotels or swap the cruise for a dahabiya. Send us your dates and we will send a new plan and price.
