1 / 18Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa sits at El Remaya Square, right at the edge of the Giza Plateau, with the Great Pyramid of Khufu barely a kilometre away. Many of its rooms, suites and pool terraces look straight out at the pyramids, which is the main reason guests choose it. The hotel is large, with more than 600 rooms over six floors, ranging from Classic and Premium rooms to Junior, Deluxe and Premium suites with separate living areas. Two outdoor pools and a children’s pool are set in landscaped gardens, and the Explore Spa offers eight treatment rooms plus a sauna, steam room and hot tub. Dining covers a lot of ground under one roof: an all-day international restaurant, cafés, a pool-island venue and UMAMI for sushi and teppanyaki, along with a lobby lounge and poolside bar. The Grand Egyptian Museum is within walking distance, and the hotel’s tour desk can arrange visits to the Sphinx, Saqqara and downtown Cairo. With meeting rooms, a business centre and free valet parking, it suits both sightseeing holidays and conferences. It is a good pick for travellers who want to wake up to the pyramids and be first in line when the plateau opens.
