After your breakfast on board, during which you can enjoy the view of the beauty and atmosphere of the city of Aswan with its green islands and red granite rocks, you will embark on an excursion to the surroundings of the city. The first item on the program is a boat trip to the Nile island of Agilika. There, you will encounter the last great sanctuary of ancient Egyptian religion, the enchanting Temple of Isis:
Philae Temple
The Philae or Isis Temple stood on the island of Philae, south of Aswan. After the construction of the High Dam, the temple was submerged for several months each year. Consequently, between 1977 and 1980, the temple was relocated to the neighboring island of Agilika. In 553 AD, the temple served as a church, resulting in significant damage to many of the temple's reliefs.
Following that, you will visit the impressive High Dam, which impounds the Nile River to create Lake Nasser. The construction of the dam had both positive and negative effects.
The High Dam
President Nasser initiated the construction of the High Dam, which lasted from 1960 to 1971. As a result, one of the largest reservoirs in the world was formed—a lake that stretches 500 kilometers in length and 32 kilometers at its widest point. The dam itself is over 3,800 meters long and 111 meters high, with a base width of 980 meters and a crest width of approximately 40 meters.
Tip of the Day: This afternoon, you have the opportunity to explore the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island and visit a Nubian village, where you can experience the hospitality of the locals (optional).
🍽 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early in the morning, the ship sets sail towards Kom Ombo and heads downstream. After a hearty breakfast on board, you will visit the Kom Ombo Temple, situated directly along the Nile riverbank:
Kom Ombo Temple
The only double temple in Egypt dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus. The temple's ruins were buried under sand for a long time, with more than half of it concealed. In 1893, they were uncovered and restored. The temple dates back to the Greek period, constructed between 304 and 31 BCE, and hundreds of mummified crocodiles were found around it.
Following your visit to the Kom Ombo Temple, your enchanting journey continues as the ship heads towards Edfu. In the afternoon, you will explore one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt:
Edfu Temple
Was built by the Ptolemies for the falcon god Horus Behdeti between 237 and 57 BCE. Until 1860 CE, the temple remained hidden beneath sand and Nile mud, only to be revealed by the Frenchman Mariette. Here, the annual celebration of the marriage between Horus of Edfu and Hathor of Dendara took place, along with the festival commemorating Horus's victory over Seth.
After your visit to the Edfu Temple, the ship continues through the lock city of Esna and onward to Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes. Relax on the sun deck and reflect on your experiences as the magnificent Nile landscape glides past you.
🍽 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast on board, you'll head to the west bank of Thebes with your tour guide. The first highlight of the day awaits you:
The Valley of the Kings
Prepare to be enchanted by the magnificent wall paintings in the tombs of the pharaohs, which are over 3,000 years old. So far, 64 tombs have been discovered in the Valley of the Kings, and you'll have the opportunity to visit three of them. This valley houses the tombs of the New Kingdom pharaohs (approximately 1550 to 1069 BCE, 18th to 20th dynasties). In 1922, the Englishman Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun, revealing its golden treasures.
Leaving this unique valley and its magical atmosphere, you'll proceed to another enchanting location:
Hatshepsut Temple
The mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut dates back to the 18th dynasty (around 1470 BCE). She commissioned the impressive terraced temple, designed by the architect Senenmut. Interestingly, Queen Hatshepsut was often depicted as a man, a detail evident in the well-preserved statues within the temple. During Christian times, a monastery was established on the temple grounds, which remained in use until the 11th century. In the 19th century, the monastery ruins were dismantled.
Enjoy the view from the temple's terraces, overlooking Luxor and the Nile Valley. Then, continue your journey with a stop to visit:
The Colossi of Memnon
You will marvel at the sight of two gigantic statues that stand side by side near the Nile river. These statues are about 18 meters (59 feet) high and were carved more than 3000 years ago. They are the images of Amenhotep III, a powerful pharaoh who ruled ancient Egypt. These statues used to guard the entrance of his magnificent temple, which is now mostly destroyed.
As the final stop of your tour, you will experience the wonder of:
Karnak Temple
The Karnak Temple is the largest temple complex ever constructed. Here, the ancient Egyptians immortalized the holy family of Thebes: Amun-Re, his wife Mut, and their son Chonsu. The temple's entire construction spanned over 2,000 years. Among its most significant areas is the grand hall of columns, boasting 134 papyrus columns, built by Seti I and completed by Ramses II.
After your final visit, the day concludes in Luxor, marking the end of your Nile cruise. You'll have a private transfer to your hotel for a relaxing beach vacation by the Red Sea.
