The complex features three massive stone pyramids, with the largest being the Pyramid of Cheops, constructed from a staggering 2,300,000 blocks of stone in dedication to Pharaoh Khufu.

The Great Pyramid

A heavenly stairwell leading to an otherworldly paradise, the Great Pyramid was built for King Khufu between 2609 BC and 2584 BC. Standing at 147 meters tall and constructed from an impressive 2.3 million limestone blocks, it houses various rooms, including the King’s chamber, the Queen’s chamber, the Grand Hall, and more.

This portal to paradise served as the final resting place for the greatest Kings and Queens of Egypt’s New Kingdom between 1570 and 1070 BC. The Valley of the Kings is home to the tombs of significant pharaohs such as Ramses II, Hatshepsut, Amenhotep I, and Tutankhamun. A captivating engineering feat, the Aswan High Dam is a remarkable project from the era of President Gamal Abdul Nasser. The project commenced in 1960, covering around 12,500 feet, and was completed in 1971. It is responsible for nearly half of the electricity generation in the country.

The Unfinished Obelisk

Carved from red granite, the Unfinished Obelisk is the most massive obelisk ever established in Ancient Egypt. Measuring 140 feet in length, it was never completed due to a flaw found in the rock, leading to its abandonment.
