Fjord Bay (Taba)

The Fjord is a stunning natural bay located between Taba and Nuweiba on the Gulf of Aqaba coast of the Sinai Peninsula. This narrow, sheltered inlet features crystal-clear shallow waters surrounded by dramatic desert mountains, creating a snorkeling paradise that feels like a hidden natural swimming pool in the midst of the Sinai desert.

Snorkeling

The Fjord's calm, protected waters make it ideal for snorkeling, with vibrant coral formations growing right up to the shore in shallow, crystal-clear water. The marine life is diverse and abundant, with colorful reef fish, sea urchins, and occasional octopus sightings. The shallow depth and absence of currents make it perfect for beginners and families with children.

The Landscape

Beyond the water, the Fjord area offers dramatic desert scenery with red and gold mountains plunging directly into the sea. The contrast of the blue water, green coral, and rust-colored mountains creates stunning photographic opportunities. Several simple Bedouin-run cafes along the shore offer tea, snacks, and equipment rental, maintaining the relaxed, uncommercial atmosphere that makes this spot so special.
