El Gouna

El Gouna is a luxury resort town located 22 kilometers north of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast. Often called the "Venice of the Red Sea" for its network of lagoons and canals, El Gouna is a self-contained, beautifully designed community that offers a distinctly upscale alternative to the busier resort towns along the Egyptian coast.

Architecture & Design

Designed with input from some of the world's leading architects, El Gouna features a harmonious blend of traditional Nubian, modern, and Mediterranean architectural styles connected by waterways, bridges, and promenades. The town includes several distinct areas: the lively Downtown with its restaurants and nightlife, the elegant Abu Tig Marina lined with cafes, and the quieter Kafr El Gouna village area with its boutique shops.

Activities

Beyond the beautiful beaches and world-class diving and snorkeling, El Gouna offers an 18-hole championship golf course, a cable water ski park, kitesurfing, and a vibrant dining and nightlife scene. The town hosts several cultural events throughout the year, including the El Gouna Film Festival. Its clean, well-maintained environment and wide range of facilities make it one of the most comfortable bases for exploring the Red Sea region.
