The first stop is a boat ride to Agilika Island on the Nile. There you will visit the magnificent temple of Isis, the last great sanctuary of ancient Egyptian religion, which will enchant you with its history and architecture.

Philae Temple

Philae Temple

One of the most remarkable Temples in Egypt is the Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis. It was built during the Ptolemaic Period and became a center of her cult. The Temple was relocated to Agilika Island after the construction of the Aswan Dam to save it from flooding.

Next, visit the imposing High Dam, which impounds the Nile to Lake Nasser, with both positive and negative effects.

The High Dam

The High Dam

Aswan High Dam is a captivating engineering feat that is listed as the most remarkable project that belongs to the ruling period of President Gamal Abdul Nasser. The project started in 1960 to cover around 12,500 feet and was completed by 1971 to be responsible for almost half of the electricity generation in the country.

Tip of the Day:

In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to take an excursion to the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island and visit a Nubian village to experience the hospitality of the locals. (Optional)

Abu Simbel Temples

Abu Simbel Temples

One of the most impressive monuments in Egypt’s history is Abu Simbel Temple, a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture. The temple was carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II, and it consists of two twin temples. The main temple was dedicated to the king and the smaller one was built to honor his beloved queen Nefertari.

Join your guide and a private vehicle for an early morning excursion to Abu Simbel. Witness the sunrise on your way there and admire the mirage on your way back from Abu Simbel. This is a unique opportunity to explore the magnificent temples of Ramses II and Nefertari in a professional and comfortable manner.

The ship leaves Aswan at midday and sails to Kom Ombo. You can admire the scenic views of the Nile along the way. In the afternoon, you will visit the ancient site on the river bank:

Kom Ombo Temple

Kom Ombo Temple

The Temple of Kom Ombo is a unique ancient site that stands on a hill overlooking the Nile river. Unlike other temples, it has two entrances and two sets of halls, courts, and sanctuaries. This is because it was dedicated to two gods: Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sky, and Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and creation. The temple also reflects the importance of sugar cane cultivation in the region, as it contains a well-preserved Nilometer that was used to measure the water level and predict the harvest.

After visiting the Kom Ombo Temple, the ship sets sail towards Edfu.

On this day, you will start with a hearty breakfast on board, followed by the exploration of one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples. You will visit:

Edfu Temple

Edfu Temple

A majestic Temple dedicated to the Horus Edfu Temple is considered by most to be the best-preserved cult Temple in Egypt. According to the Egyptian myths, the Temple was believed to be the place where Horus the falcon-headed God revenged the murder of Osiris his Father by killing Seth.

After visiting the Edfu Temple, your dreamy journey continues towards Luxor, where the cruise docks. Following lunch on board, you will travel with your guide to Thebes East. There, you will explore the impressive:

Luxor Temple

Luxor Temple

In the heart of Luxor, you will find the Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II.. Even Alexander the Great built a chapel for the ancient Egyptian gods. In ancient times, the Egyptians celebrated the most important festival in Thebes, the Opet Festival, at the Luxor Temple. In 1989, archaeologists accidentally discovered an underground chamber with well-preserved statues, now exhibited in the Luxor Museum. At the Luxor Temple, you can see a section of the Sphinx Alley that once connected the Luxor Temple with the Karnak Temple.

You will return to your ship after the tour. You have the evening free to discover the city of Luxor at your own pace. You can walk along the Corniche and admire the Nile views, or visit the Old Town and experience its culture and history. Luxor has a lot to offer, so make the most of your time here!
